Jönsson
finishes 3rd as he returns to his native
Sweden for the Camaro Cup Series

Pro-driver, Niclas Jönsson, a native
of Bankeryd, Sweden returns home as guest driver at the STCC Posten
Grande finale, Camaro Cup Racing Series. Hosted by Bryntesson Motorsports
team, Jönsson
is piloting the #96 "Speedo" Fragus
Warranty Group sponsored Chevy
Camaro in two-15 minute races. Qualifying
2nd with a time of 1:25.620, Jönsson is competing against 30
other drivers at the 3,106km track at Mantorp Park. In Race 1 held
Saturday afternoon, Jönsson,
after a fight for the lead finished with a 3rd place podium and
a fastest lap time of 1:25.696.
This
is Jönsson's
first return to Mantorp Park since 1992 when he won the Group N
Touring Car Division in the Scandinavian Championship racing for
Honda. In 1990-1991, Jonsson won the Formula 3 series in the Scandinavian
Championship racing a Reynard Honda Mugen.

am thrilled to be back at Mantorp Park, it's bringing up a lot of
fond memories for me.", said Jönsson.

to be the guest driver on his team. Tony and his crew have been

Started
20 years ago, Camaro Cup Racing consist of drivers and team owners
that are big fans of the American car culture and NASCAR. All races
are driven at the same weekends and in collaboration with the STCC
- the Swedish Touring Car Championship. This is the best of Swedish
motorsports and the record number crowd will prove it, with over
25,000 fans and over 100 media expected to be in attendance.
Jönsson's
next race will be at his home town track, Road Atlanta in Braselton,
Georgia for the American Le Mans Series, 10 hour Petit race starting
