captures 3rd place finish in Mexico City 250!
\\
BUFORD,
GA –April 19, 2008: Jönsson
and co-driver Ricardo Zonta capture Krohn Racing's first
podium finish of the 2008 Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series at the
Mexico City 250 at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Saturday, April
19. Jönsson
finished third in the No. 76 Krohn Racing Pontiac
Lola in the 100-lap sprint race at the 2.5-mile, 14-turn circuit
in downtown Mexico City.
This podium position is a great testiment
to the hard work the team has put into the development of the new
Proto-Auto Lola with only its second showing.
Quotes from Jonsson:
“Obviously it is fantastic
to finish on the podium the second time out with the brand new Proto-Auto
Lola. We’ve made a lot of progress every time the car is out.
I think we have proven that now. I think we had a very good car,
even in Homestead. We ran in the Top 3 as well. It’s not a
big surprise. It’s a good result so thanks to the whole Krohn
team and obviously Ricardo did an awesome job. It’s looking
very promising for the future.
We want to congratulate Jim (Matthews) and Marc (Goossens) and Scott
(Pruett) and Memo (Rojas). It is always great to come here to Mexico
and the fans are fantastic. The TELMEX team is a big part of that
draw.”
The
Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series will compete next weekend, April
26-27, 2008, at the scenic Virginia International Raceway (VIR)
for Round Four of 12 races this season. Visit Race
